Go Green...

As my father and I were talking, we had a thought: what if we got to actually decide where our tax dollars were spent?

Is this really such a crazy idea. Let's get down to democracy and simply say where we want our cash to go. I'm tired of paying for causes I don't believe in. Politicians give me the cold shoulder, too. They say with their elected noses held high that I cannot understand the issues, so I just have to trust their judgement. Well my vote is not getting heard, and I'm sick of career politicians who don't care what I care about after Nov. 2nd. The fact of the matter is: I don't support abortion, I don't want socialized health care or government for that matter.

So why not designate, when I send in my tax forms, where my money goes? Does it not seem logical? This way the "have nots" can elect their politicians, who can make their government (taxpayer) funded programs, but if I don't agree with the program, MY money is not supporting it. And those who feel their basic citizen duty of being informed is too much to ask, they can mark "general fund" so they can continue what ever it is they do find worth their time.
